Inspired by nature, featuring botanical design and patterns. This collection includes three pieces - two square wooden plaques, and one rectangular wooden box. All are mixed media collage, sealed and finished with encaustic.

If you are not familiar with encaustic - it's a technique where a combination of melted beeswax and resin are applied to a surface and fused with heat. As a finishing layer, encaustic wax adds lovely luminosity and durability to the art.

The collage portion on these pieces features botanical prints made from hydrangea, fern and wild flowers - collected on Sunday morning field and meadow walks in and around my house on Aquidneck Island.
